Associate of Applied Science in Respiratory Therapy

The goal of the Respiratory Therapy A.A.S. program is to prepare graduates with demonstrated competence in the cognitive (knowledge), psychomotor (skills), and affective (behavior) learning domains of respiratory care practice as performed by registered respiratory therapists (RRTs).

Once accepted into the Respiratory Therapy program at Spencerian College, you begin a two-year advanced track curriculum that prepares you to pass your credentialing examination and work as a respiratory therapist. Respiratory therapists (RTs) are part of a dynamic medical team treating patients with lung and breathing disorders. As an RT, you can interview, evaluate, treat and educate patients in a hospital setting. You can also administer breathing medication(s), oxygen, perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), manage ventilators and draw arterial blood gases. The program can be completed in 24 months with our evening classes.

The Respiratory Therapy program (program #200581, offering an Associate’s of Applied Science degree, Louisville, Kentucky) is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Respiratory Care, www.coarc.com.
